SPACERACE is focused on making the companies faster in the race for space utilization through standardized products. We develop ATLAS (release actuators for ground testing), EGSE (control electronics) and UNIKA (novel preload device for cleanrooms).

INTRODUCTION

Release actuators for space can retain a high preload and release it on demand. They are extremely reliable and usually very expensive. Some of them can be only fired once and then sent for refurbishment abroad. Meanwhile, space mechanisms need to be tested on ground – sometimes more than hundred times.

That is why SPACERACE created ATLAS – representative to the original space devices, but designed for ergonomics and efficiency in ground testing. To allow the developers of mechanisms to test faster yet more cost efficiently.

ATLAS are complemented by Initiation Control Unit (ICU) which can be used for any current pulse activated release actuators and by UNIKA which is highly mobile and cleanroom friendly preload device in development.
